New McDonald's Proposed Across from Future ALDI in Silver Springs
A new McDonald's restaurant is being proposed along East Highway 40 in Silver Springs.
The proposed location is on a portion of the property at 15825 East Highway 40, across from the former Winn-Dixie supermarket at Forest Center.
The Winn-Dixie closed in July and is scheduled to be converted into an ALDI grocery store.
Plans for the new McDonald's were presented Monday to the Marion County Development Review Committee.
The proposal calls for a standalone restaurant with two drive-through lanes.
Developer Alakai Capital, represented by Common Oak Engineering, is requesting modifications to landscaping requirements because of drainage features and an existing Clay Electric utility easement.
The project still requires additional county review and approval before construction permits can be issued.
No construction schedule or opening date has been announced.
