A 51-year-old Ocklawaha man is facing drug trafficking charges following an early-morning traffic stop.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, a deputy observed Daniel Christopher Novak operating an ATV without lights while pulling a small trailer along Southeast 183rd Avenue Road.

Deputies say a search of a bag attached to the ATV revealed approximately 5.5 grams of a substance that field-tested presumptively positive for THC and fentanyl.

Novak was arrested October 2 and charged with fentanyl trafficking, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license as a habitual offender.

The arrest was reported October 5. The charges remain allegations, and the substance identification is preliminary pending confirmatory testing.
