South Marion High School Continues Staffing Ahead of August Opening

Preparations continue for the opening of South Marion High School, which is scheduled to welcome students in August.

School officials are actively hiring faculty, support staff, and administrators for the new campus. The school will be the first new public high school built in Marion County in 25 years and is expected to serve approximately 2,000 students.


Summer Library Programs Drawing Families Across Marion County

The Marion County Public Library System continues offering a wide variety of summer programs for residents of all ages.

Activities include reading challenges, story times, educational workshops, family events, and youth programming designed to encourage literacy and lifelong learning during the summer months.


New School Leaders Named Across Marion County

Marion County Public Schools has announced leadership changes at seven schools ahead of the upcoming academic year.

District officials say the new principal assignments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational programs and prepare schools for student success in the 2026-27 school year.


School District Recruiting for New School Year

Marion County Public Schools is continuing its recruitment efforts with hiring fairs and open positions available throughout the district.

Officials say instructional and support positions remain available as schools prepare for the return of students in August. Additional hiring events are scheduled throughout the summer.
