Boil Water Notice Continues for Ocala Waterway Customers

Marion County Utilities continues monitoring water quality following a planned fire hydrant relocation project in the Ocala Waterway area.

A precautionary boil water notice remains in effect for affected customers until testing confirms that all state drinking water standards have been met. County officials say customers will be notified once the notice is lifted.


Water Restrictions Remain in Effect Across Marion County

Drought conditions continue to impact Marion County, and residents remain under one-day-per-week irrigation restrictions.

Officials say the restrictions are part of the Modified Phase Three Extreme Water Shortage declaration designed to help conserve water resources throughout the region. Residents are encouraged to follow watering schedules and reduce unnecessary water use whenever possible.


Sheriff's Office Promotes Summer Safety

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is reminding residents to take precautions as summer travel season begins.

Deputies encourage homeowners to secure residences before traveling, lock vehicles, remove valuables from sight, and report suspicious activity to law enforcement. Officials say community awareness remains one of the most effective crime prevention tools.

The Marion County Public Library System's Marion County Reads program is underway throughout the county.

Library branches are offering reading challenges, educational workshops, children's activities, and special events designed to encourage literacy and lifelong learning during the summer months.

Marion County emergency management officials are encouraging residents to prepare early for the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.
