Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued for Ocala Waterway Area

Marion County Utilities has issued a planned precautionary boil water notice for portions of the Ocala Waterway area as crews relocate a fire hydrant.

Officials say customers in affected areas may experience temporary service interruptions while the work is completed. The notice will remain in effect until required water quality testing confirms the system is operating normally.


Water Conservation Measures Remain in Effect

The City of Ocala is reminding residents that Phase Three Extreme Water Shortage restrictions remain in effect across much of Marion County.

Under the current advisory, irrigation is restricted to one day per week depending on address and property type. Officials are asking residents to conserve water as drought conditions continue throughout the region.


FHP Continues Investigation into Fatal Marion County Crash

Florida Highway Patrol investigators continue examining a fatal crash that occurred on County Road 42 in southern Marion County.

According to authorities, the three-vehicle collision resulted in one fatality and critical injuries. The crash temporarily closed the roadway for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigators documented the scene.
