Marion County Schools Launch Summer Feeding Program

Marion County Public Schools has officially begun its 2026 Summer Feeding Program, providing free meals to children throughout the county during the summer break.

District officials estimate more than 142,000 meals will be served through the initiative, helping ensure students continue receiving nutritious food while classes are not in session. The program operates at multiple locations across Marion County.


Transportation Projects Continue Across Marion County

County leaders continue to prioritize transportation improvements as Marion County experiences ongoing growth.

Road widening projects, intersection upgrades, and pedestrian safety enhancements remain in various stages of development as officials work to improve traffic flow and public safety throughout the region.


Sheriff's Office Encourages Crime Prevention

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is reminding residents to take simple precautions to help prevent property crimes.

Deputies encourage residents to lock vehicles, secure valuables, and report suspicious activity. Law enforcement officials say many vehicle burglaries occur when cars are left unlocked.


Graduation Season Continues

Thousands of Marion County students are celebrating graduation this week as commencement ceremonies continue across the district.

School officials expect nearly 3,500 seniors to receive diplomas as the Class of 2026 completes its high school journey.


Summer Programs Planned at County Libraries

The Marion County Public Library System is preparing for a busy summer season with reading programs, educational workshops, and family-oriented events.
