In Winter Haven, a family was startled awake around 1:36 a.m. by a loud bang at their front door. They discovered 23-year-old Austin Alexander Smith in their living room, wearing only a shirt—no pants or shoes—and holding their carpet cleaner. When confronted, Smith dropped the cleaner and fled out the door he had kicked in.

Police apprehended him nearby, and Smith admitted he couldn't recall his actions due to being high on meth. He was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and booked into the Polk County Jail.

Don't do drugs or you could end up in someone's living room, half naked hugging their carpet cleaner.
