Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti returns to Ocala Next month

 

On the evening of February 20, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., the Reilly Arts Center will come alive with the enchanting sounds of Chris Botti's trumpet. He's renowned for his collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Sting, Lady Gaga, Paul Simon, and many more. This performance is part of his tour in support of his latest album, Vol. 1, produced by the legendary David Foster. The album features soulful interpretations of timeless classics like "Old Folks," "My Funny Valentine," "Someday My Prince Will Come," and "Blue In Green." Additionally, it includes a captivating cover of Coldplay's hit single, "Fix You" You can choose your preferred seating from various options, including the orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony, with ticket prices ranging from $40 to $150. It's a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the mesmerizing world of jazz and experience the artistry of Chris Botti up close.

 

City’s Water Conservation Poster Contest Open to Students in Marion County

 

The City of Ocala Water Resources Department is hosting the "Drop Savers" poster contest for Marion County students in grades K-12. Students are encouraged to create posters depicting water conservation ideas using slogans, drawings, or both. The deadline for entries is March 1. Winners will be recognized at an Ocala City Council meeting, receive gift bags, and have their artwork displayed locally. They'll also have the opportunity to enter the statewide "Drop Savers" poster contest with additional prizes.
