Ocala's Rapid Report

Jan 26, 2024 Ocala's Rapid Report

Saturday Inaugural OTrak Chalk Walk

Get ready to enjoy a fantastic Saturday event tomorrow from 10-6 where professional artists will amaze you with their chalk creations along the OTrak. They'll be competing for the titles of Best in Show, Second Place, and People's Choice, with some impressive cash prizes up for grabs – $500 for First Place, and $250 each for Second Place and the People's Choice Award.

The OTrak Chalk Walk is a brand-new addition to the Tuscawilla Art Park Series, brought to you by Ocala Cultural Arts. The best part? It's FREE and open to everyone! But that's not all – besides the chalk competition, there will be food trucks, local artisans, vendors, and live musical performances by talented artists like Mike Abbott, The Mudds, Ecliff, Fareeza, and Becky Baby at the Art Park.
Families and friends, here's your chance to unleash your inner artist! You can create your own chalk art for just $10 (cash only), with all the supplies provided. And don't forget to vote for the People's Choice award. Need chalk? Simply visit the Ocala Cultural Arts information tent.

The theme for this year's OTrak Chalk Walk professional competition is "O, The Places We'll Go," inspired by the OTrak pathway connecting City Hall to Tuscawilla Art Park. This competition is open to artists currently working and residing in the state of Florida.

For more information or if you're an artist interested in participating, find all the details at www.ocalafl.gov/chalkwalk. Spread the word and let's make this event unforgettable!
