At this year's Conservation Summit, the tremendous achievement of the Florida Wildlife Corridor will be celebrated, and discuss its implications for farmland conservation right here in Marion County.
You will hear from Keynote Speaker Carlton Ward Jr. Ward, who will share his stories of exploration in wild Florida, along with photos and video from his work as a National Geographic Explorer, Photographer, and creator of the Path of the Panther book and movie that helped to inspire the Florida Wildlife Corridor.

The 42nd Annual Chili Cook-Off!
Ocala's most anticipated, most fun Fall event is back! The 42nd Annual Marion County Chili Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, November 4 from 10 am-5 pm at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion. This year's event includes a car show, a children's area with bounce houses galore and carnival-style games, the best bake sale ever, a beer booth, live music, and amazing competition chili. All proceeds from the event benefit The Cornerstone School in Ocala. I will be there again this year with an even bigger and better booth hoping to win your vote for best booth oh yeah and best chili of course! We hope to see you out there, so don’t forget to stop over and say: “Hi!” I’ll be the one in the hula skirt!
