District Bar and Kitchen is Now OPEN with limited hours   

 

If you were wondering when that restaurant that replaced Pi on Broadway would actually open...wait no further. District Bar and Kitchen has begun a series of soft opening weeks leading up to a grand opening this fall.

They stated on their FB page: "While this has been a trying process, we will be opening with limited hours to ensure that we’re able to give the amazing service that the beautiful city of Ocala deserves."

Those hours are:

Sunday/Monday: Closed

Tuesday/Wednesday: 4 pm – 11 pm

Thursday: 4 pm – 12 am (kitchen till 10 pm)

And today on Friday: 4 pm – 2 am (kitchen till 11 pm)

Saturday: 4 pm – 2 am (kitchen till 11 pm)

They also said their plan is to introduce Saturday & Sunday Brunches in the coming weeks building up to full service, 7 days a week, in the coming months.

 

Friday Food Trucks

 

If you aren't really wanting to try a new restaurant but want some ideas for dinner tonight, Friday Food Trucks will be at the Marion Oaks Community Center Complex. Different food trucks each week so just swing in and check out who is there. Begins at 4 pm-7 pm

Sounds of Summer Outdoor Concert        

 

"Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and dancin' shoes for our SOUNDS OF SUMMER CONCERT & FIREWORKS at Ocala-Marion County Veterans Memorial Park!

This is a family event so bring the kids! They get in for FREE! There will be a water slide, a dunk tank, cornhole, ladder golf, face painting, vendor giveaways and so much more!

If you don't want to lug a chow basket, never fear because Big Lee's BBQ will be on deck dispensing the galaxy's tastiest BBQ! Other mouth-watering delicacies will be offered by The Krafty Kettle, Jeremiah's Italian Ice, Sonic Drive-In and Kona Ice!

This is a Community-oriented, family-friendly event! Ages 17 and under are FREE! Bring the family! Live entertainment will be rocking the Park Pavilion from 3:30 pm until it's time for some Fireworks!

Gates open at 3 pm! Local favorite and one-man band Sparky Seymour will be entertaining the crowd from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm, followed by Atlas from 4:40 pm- 5:20 pm, and then headliner Radlin' Rootz takes the stage at 5:30 pm! I will be there, along with the Classic Hits 104.7 crew!

Ageless Adventures Kicks Off July 10th

 

Master the Possibilities Education Center designs classes that build on our active adults’ knowledge and experiences to stimulate and challenge them to become more engaged in education. Monday, July 10th kicks off Ageless Adventures it is a week-long family program that blends generations and enables grandparents (or parents) to participate in a class with a youthful partner. Classes are for kids as young as 4 but check online at MasterThePossibilities.org for details on ages, prices, and times for each fun class.
